Ending Voter Suppression

UNBELIEVABLE

Not all Alabamians are being treated equally even though Alabama has been called the cradle of civil rights!

14%

AFRICAN AMERICAN REPRESENATION

While African Americans make up 27% of the Alabama population, newly drawn congressional maps reflect only a 14% representation.

1964

VOTING RIGHTS ACT

The very inequities that go to the heart of why The Voting Act was needed have not been protected in Alabama.

83%

UNEQUAL PAY

In 2020, a full-time, year-round working woman was still being paid more than 17% less than her male-counterpart in the U.S.!

What Boyd Believes:  Every Alabamian – and every Americans – deserve the same opportunities to achieve The American Dream.  That’s why WILL BOYD will work hard every day as your United States Senator to:

  • Support all efforts to end voter suppression
  • Oppose any efforts to silence the voice of voters
  • Oppose any efforts to undermine The Voting Rights Act, especially those that misrepresent minority representation through gerrymandering Congressional districts
  • Close the gender wage gap for women • Work to ensure that politics don’t interfere with efforts to promote equal rights for all
  • Support the Equality Act, which would add LGBTQIA to the Civil Rights Act of 1965 as a protected class
  • Unify the State of Alabama, championing discussions on “race relations,” diversity, and equality
  • Combat income inequality, working to ensure that women are truly paid the same wages for the same work
  • Champion the rights of women—especially those who are victims of crimes which include abuse, bullying, domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual assault
  • Seek equal sentences for equal justice while ultimately combating recidivism
  • Seek to end discrepancies between minimum sentences for illegal substances (crack, powder cocaine)
  • Seek to prevent crime rather than trying to suppress it

Please give my campaign a "helping hand."
